PLEASE NOTE: TarmaSeal Tarmac Restorer should only be used when the wearing course of the original surface is still in place. When the surface is down to worn aggregate, it is unlikely to adhere properly to any stones or chippings in the aggregate. This could result in the product coming off when the tyres of a vehicle repeatedly move over the surface.
Preparation
Ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned with a pressure washer or jet washer. Allow a minimum of 2 to 3 clear, dry days before sealing. Before coating, sweep area and remove any loose stones. Make sure product is thoroughly mixed with no sediment present.
Application
For best results apply 2 coats in temperatures above 12°C and below 22°C Only apply if no rain is forecast for at least 6 hours.
Tarmaseal can be applied via a medium pile roller or large paint brush. Make sure a minimum of 2 to 4 hours is left between coats.

Q: My driveway is about 30 years old and is tarmac with, what appears to be, small white stones mixed in. Is your tarmac restorer suitable for this sort of surface and will it cover and adhere to the stones?
A: The tarmac restorer will cover the stones but as they are not porous the restorer is unlikely to stay on them over time if a car is going back and forth over them. This can be rectified by reapplying the product now and again in those areas. However, it would be best to do a small test patch with a sample first to determine suitability.
Q: Hello. How long does the weather need to stay dry after applying please?
A: Once you have cleaned the tarmac it would be best to leave it to dry for 24-48 hours before apllying the tarmac restorer
Q: Good morning, please let me know how many litres per square metre are needed.
A: For a 20 litre drum, the average coverage is 40 to 60 sq metres. If the tarmac is old, worn and quite porous, the coverage would be closer to 40 sq metres. If it is in good condition the the coverage would be closer to 60 sq metres.
My tarmac drive measures approx 50 m2, so I ordered two 20 litre containers of Tarmaseal (as one 20 litre container is supposed to cover 40-60 m2 and two coats is recommended). Preparation consisted of giving the south-facing drive a thorough sweep, filling a small hole with the crack repair compound and treating a couple of oil stains with the oil stain remover. I didn't power hose the drive as I don't posses a power hose. The first coat took 7 hours to apply using the roller kit and a brush to the edges, and I used the whole of one container as the drive was quite worn (over 20 years old). The second coat took just 2.5 hours and used about half of the second container, so I gave the drive a third coat as I had enough Tarmaseal left over. The final result looks very impressive, almost like new, with a consistent finish.
Used this tarmac restorer four years ago and the result was so good I have ordered more to treat another part of my tarmac. Easy to use, spreads well and looks good when finished.
Good product easy to apply and excellent finish on old 'well worn' tarmac. Make sure to have plenty of containers, roller sleeves and brushes ready before starting the application.
