Product Reviews
By Victoria McNicolFROM Glasgow, Scotland

I can not fault this product at all. I carried out all the prep work then started painting. It is very easy to apply, covers the brick/slab with colour with ease. Once painted it is very natural looking and does not appear like it has been painted, like you get with masonry paint. It has transformed my garden, a lot cheaper than purchasing new bricks/slabs. I also have purchased the dark grey concrete sealer to do my slabs at ground level, and bricks below upper patio area. Just need weather to dry up again. Cant wait to see the full change of my garden with these fantastic products. I would highly recommend this product, you wont be disappointed. Ill never go back to masonry paint again, as the finish is such a high standard with smart seal patio.

Product Description

A ready to apply pigmented patio sealer suitable for application on most types of concrete paved surfaces. Patio Colour Seal can transform the look and appearance of a tired-looking paved area and make it look new. This DIY friendly product is superior to inexpensive concrete paints and is very easy to apply by roller or brush. Prior to application, all surfaces must be cleaned thoroughly and given sufficient time to dry out completely. After two coats have been applied the transformation should be complete.

Patio Colour Seal can be used to refresh the existing colour of old concrete paving or change it completely to a new colour if necessary. Average coverage is approximately 4m² per litre 1st coat (dependent on the surface) and approximately 5m² 2nd coat. If required, an anti-slip additive can be mixed in with the sealer on the final coat if required. There are various colour options and samples available to test if required.

Product FAQs

Q: Hi my husband painted our slabs with santex smooth masonary paint then he used smartseal sealant and it did a great job . He has now painted them again using goodhome masonary paint when he came to use the sealent again it reacted going eggshell can you advise

Massey

A: The patio coloured sealer is not compatible with most paints and should not be applied to a previously painted surface, or a patio that has been previously sealed, without applying to a test area 1st.For specific advice, please call us on 01268 722500

Q: Hi Thinking of using this on some old concrete slabs, however I have 2 dogs that like to use the area as a bathroom. Will this cause an issue / staining / fading of the colour over time ?

Emma Roberts

A: It is difficult to say to what degree the dogs will reduce the effectiveness of the coloured sealer over time (too many variables) but it is a hardwearing sealer. You could always try a sample on a discreet test area, or just accept that a top up coat will need to be applied, when the patio start's to look tired again.

Q: Hello. Im interested in the sealant product for a slabbed patio. Ive watched the helpful video. It says it lasts for about 5 years, what happens then. If it peels, how do you then renew and replace it please?

Naomi

A: The Patio ColourSeal is not a paint. It will soak into the concrete, so it wouldn't peek and flake. It would fade over time. Once it gets to the end of its lifespan, you would then treat it again with another couple coats of sealer. You wouldn’t need to strip any remnants of the previous sealer.
