Black Limestone Sealer - Transforms Re- Colours Seals and Protect
Easy to Apply, Hardwearing Solvent-Based Sealer and Colourant
Smartseal black limestone sealer is a highly-effective solvent-based sealer and re-colourant for black limestone which gives a transformative effect.
Limestone slabs will often fade over time and gradually turn a lighter shade of grey. The black limestone sealer can transform the look of faded limestone patios and make them look like they were recently laid. The sealer can be re-applied at any time to ensure any limestone slabs on patios or other external surfaces look good at all times.
Preparation:
- Clean surface using a pressure washer and/or Patio Clean Xtreme.
- Allow to dry for a minimum of 72 hours
- Apply above 12°C with a temperature no higher than 23°C
- Two coats are recommended
- Apply by roller
- Coverage: Average coverage approx. 4 - 5m²/litre first coat (dependant on surface) and approx. 6 - 8m²/litre second coat
Always apply to a test area first to determine suitability. A sample size (150 ml) is available for purchase should you wish to try it before committing to purchase 5 Litres.
***PLEASE NOTE*** - For best results, if a sweep-in jointing compound has been used when the slabs were laid, we would recommend using the residue remover prior to application.
Q: I applied a first coat of the sealant about a month ago but didn’t have time to complete a second coat. Am I okay to do a second coat now? Do I need to wait for 72 hrs of dry weather again? Or can I just recoat?
A: You can recoat with the black limestone sealer at any time, providing the limestone is dry (you do not have to wait for 3 dry days) Hope that helps
Q: Hi I have used black limestone sealer two times over the past 3 years. Initially look fantastic but durability only lasts less than a year. Stones go back to grey. Should I look at putting a Matt sealer on top of the black sealer.?
A: Putting the clear solvent based sealer over the black limestone sealer to lock in the colour for longer is not something we would normally recommend. We would suggest doing a sample patch first and leave it for 2-3 weeks to see if the results meet your expectations.
Q: Can I get this product in the US? If not what is a similar product?
A: The black limestone sealer is not currently for sale in the USA.
I was very unsure what to buy and how to treat my black limestone slabs. After treating it last year with Re-Store they faded and stained very quickly leaving them looking very sad and uninteresting. SmartSeal Black Limestone Sealer really is a game changer!! 2 coats down and the place is looking MINT!! Well worth the money!! Thanks guys!!
Not to Quote another companies product..this stuff does what is says on the tin. This black limestone sealer transformed my dull looking grey limestone to a real blackwet look.
I was feeling very disappointed with my black limestone patio (only 2 years old) as the colour had faded and any amount of cleaning did nothing to make it look better. Last resort was Black Limestone Sealer. Wow the difference is amazing. I now have a new patio for a fraction of the price Thank you
