Black Limestone Sealer - Re- Colours and Seals
Easy to Apply, Hardwearing Solvent-Based Sealer and Colourant

Smartseal black limestone sealer is a highly-effective solvent-based sealer and re-colourant for black limestone which gives a transformative effect.
Limestone slabs will often fade over time and gradually turn a lighter shade of grey. The black limestone sealer can transform the look of faded limestone patios and make them look like they were recently laid. The sealer can be re-applied at any time to ensure any limestone slabs on patios or other external surfaces look good at all times.
Preparation:
- Clean surface using a pressure washer and/or Patio Clean Xtreme.
- Allow to dry for a minimum of 72 hours
- Apply above 12°C with a temperature no higher than 23°C
- Two coats are recommended
- Apply by roller
- Coverage: Average coverage approx. 4 - 5mē/litre first coat (dependant on surface) and approx. 6 - 8mē/litre second coat
Always apply to a test area first to determine suitability. A sample size (150 ml) is available for purchase should you wish to try it before committing to purchase 5 Litres.
***PLEASE NOTE*** - For best results, if a sweep-in jointing compound has been used when the slabs were laid, we would recommend using the residue remover prior to application.
Q: I have purchased black limestone sealant for my limestone coping. What is the recommended drying time before it rains..
A: It is best to apply the Black Limestone Sealer if no rain is forecast 6-8 hours after application.
Q: RE: Black Limestone Sealer Hi there, Can you please confirm drying time needed between coats and how long before we can walk on it? Also, how long does the sealer last before it needs reseal?
A: The Black Limestone Sealer should be touch dry in a few hours so you can then apply a second coat. You should leave it around 4 hours before you walk on it.
Q: I have sealed a patio for a customer using azspects natural stone sealer, she told me it was slate, I questioned it and said it looks like black limestone to me, she insisted it was slate so against my better judgement used the stone sealer. It hasn't enhanced the colour at all. Would it need stripping off before applying your limestone colour enhancer/sealer?
A: If you have used another sealing product on what you think is slate or black limestone patio then we would suggest removing that sealer first before you think of applying the Black Limestone Sealer.
I was very unsure what to buy and how to treat my black limestone slabs. After treating it last year with Re-Store they faded and stained very quickly leaving them looking very sad and uninteresting. SmartSeal Black Limestone Sealer really is a game changer!! 2 coats down and the place is looking MINT!! Well worth the money!! Thanks guys!!
Excellent product that has done a great job colouring and sealing recently laid black limestone paving.. Only managed to get one coat on so far, due to ever threatening rain, but still looks good. Applied by brush and it went on fine.
Resealed my natural stone with black limestone sealer and looks brand new. Easy & quick to apply. Great product.
