Smartseal Porcelain Sealer is a hard wearing, breathable, protective coating for modern internal & external porcelain tiles. The porcelain tile sealer can also be used on ceramic wall and floor tiles. Furthermore, it helps to prevent general soiling & surface staining. Although this is not a cosmetic product, it does act as a colour enhancer and leaves a subtle wet look sheen once dry. However, its main purpose is to make cleaning and maintenance easier.
Smartseal Porcelain Sealer is a ready to use, easy to apply, quick-drying formulation that gives additional protection oil and water-based stains whilst enhancing the natural colours of the tiles. Once applied the porcelain tiles sealer will make cleaning and maintenance of porcelain surfaces much easier. WE DO NOT RECOMMENDED USING ON HIGHLY POLISHED SURFACES.

Average coverage: 10 - 20m² per litre, dependant on surface texture and porosity.
Application temperature range: 10° to 23°C
Directions for Use:
Always apply to a test area or spare tile first.
Only apply to completely dry and clean surfaces.
**If applied to a surface where a "sweep-in" pointing compound has been used within the last 6 months, the porcelain must be fully cleaned with Smartseal Residue Remover prior to sealant application.**
Apply a single thin, consistent coat, with a microfibre cloth, microfibre flat mop or paint pad. Avoid application marks and excess pooling of sealer.
Please note:
This formulation is strictly a single coat application, because it is a high active micro coating that bonds very strongly to the impervious porcelain.
It is not a cosmetic product. Although it does make the treated surfaces look more attractive, its main purpose is to aid easier cleaning and maintenance.
Applying more than one coat to achieve the "desired appearance" will almost definitely result in application issues and product failure.
Given the above, it is important the exact application instructions are followed.
- Allow a minimum of 2 hours drying time before walking on. The sealer will be fully-cured and attain full water-resistance after 24 hours.
- If using externally, do not apply if rain is forecast within 8 hours.
- Average coverage 10-20m² per litre. Coverage will vary depending on surface texture and porosity.
- Store in cool, dry conditions out of direct sunlight in original container only. USE WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF PURCHASE & WITHIN 3 MONTHS ONCE OPENED.
Q: Hi, just moved into my new House and my kitchen counter and backsplash are porcelain Matt finished and they’re actually to Matt for my taste, can this product be used of countertops and backsplashes ? Is it safe to? And is the product will give a wet look finish to my countertop and backsplash?
A: The porcelain sealer is a surface coating that can be used on a porcelain counter worktop. However, to ensure the product creates the satin finish you are seeking, it is best to do a test patch with a sample first before sealing the entire area.
Q: Hi could you please advise if the product is detrimental to the non slip qualities on our outdoor porcelain tiles and does it retain a ‘wet look’ appearance. Thanks
A: The Porcelain Sealer would not normally make the surface any more or less slippery than it currently is. It will only replicate the texture of the surface it is applied to. If it is not slippery at present, it shouldnt be any more slippery after sealing with the porcelain sealer.
Q: Hi just used your product all looks fine slight sheen to my porcelain patio now my question is when would you recommend reapplying in the future
A: A top up coat of the Porcelain Sealer should be re-applied every 3-5 years depending on the wear and tear it receives.

The porcelain sealer is a great product, extremely easy to apply and dryers pretty quickly
Used LTP's 'Porcelain Tile Protector' pre-grouting, so was slightly concerned about using SmartSeal over the top as a final post-grout sealant (ie. are they compatible?). After some helpful discussions with George (Customer Support) and testing on a sample, I went for it and all worked perfectly :-). Very happy with the result - thank you!
