Natural Stone Sealer - COLOUR ENHANCER

I have an Indian sandstone patio which looked dull and drab. I have used Smartseal products for about 3 yrs and completely trust them The videos are easy to follow. I decided to try the colour enhancer sealant and it looks absolutely fantastic. I could not be happier. The colour looks even better than when the patio was laid a few years ago.

I have used this sealer before several years ago on my Indian Sandstone pavers. Cleaned with the xtreme cleaner and coated with this brings up the natural colours. When it rains the water pools and runs off in a similar way to a waxed car. This definitely dramatically reduces the weathering effects such as moss, algae and general dirt taking hold. Highly recommended

The sealer is good stuff and easy to apply.It didn't go as far as I had calculated, but I guess that depends on the porosity of the stone.

The sealer really enhances the colour of the sandstone, darkening it, and appears to add depth. Easy to apply and dries in no time. Staff at Smart Seal were extremely helpful, my order was lost by the courier and Smart Seal provided a replacement via a different courier the very next day.

Our patio is Indian sandstone and was laid down in 2007. Despite jet washing every year, the sandstone never looked clean. Having seen the Smart Seal video, we decided to try out their products. We followed all of their advise, including waiting for the right outside temperature for each procedure. The final result is absolutely stunning. We could never have imagined that the end result would be a patio that looked as good as it was in 2007. It all looks brand new now. Great products.

The sealer seemed to work really well and greatly enhances the colour of Indian lime stone.

Sealer seems to work a treat with a decent garden sprayer. Enhanced the colour of both the slabs and my antique bricks, albeit coverage on the brick sections is much less due to higher porosity. Very pleased so far.

Used a spray application for the stone sealer and very pleased with results.

Very clear instructions allowed for a faultless application of two coats of Smartseal Enhanced Colour sealer over a 90m squared fossil mint sandstone patio. I used two spray coats and because this type of sandstone is particularly porous, I saturated the stone on both coats but ensured that any pooling was eliminated on both occasions. The finish is as described, a wet look and is very attractive bringing out the natural colours in the stone.

Best sealant purchase by far.

Only just applied so can't comment on longevity but it certainly looks great. Coverage was a little better than expected when applied with a roller on Indian sandstone. All in all I'm happy with the appearance of the product.

My Indian stone patio over 10 years old and this sealer brought it back to its original colour. Found 1 coat sufficient applied with garden sprayer.

I applied the sealer using long handled brush and found this to be easy. Some concrete slabs seemed more porous and required more application. Does it work? I will need to wait for 12 months and then I will know. I have great hope for this product most especially where I gave Indian paving two coats.

The sealer went down really easy using a garden sprayer. Some slight pooling on the surface that was easily dealt with using a sponge paint roller. The stone looks wet going down but soon dries to its natural colour. Will wait to see if it performs as promised but all in all so far very pleased with it.

Absolutely fabulous sealer. My patio has a new lease of life and looks amazing. Have already recommended to various friends and family.

A good product. However a 2.5 litre tin needs to be available, especially for inside stone sealing. 1 Litre is not enough and 5 litre is too much.

Used this product last summer on our slate patio initial results were great really enhanced the look of the slate. However after the winter the patio now look dull again. Disappointed with the longterm results

One happy camper!. After a quick diagnosis Ricky hooked me up with an excellent colour enhancement sealer which gave my granite patio just the pop i was looking for. I'd tried other product before and it just wasnt getting it done for me. Overall a very satisfactory experience.

Everything about the Smartseal information, ordering and products, was excellent. The 'how to' videos were great and helped me choose exactly the type of sealer I needed for my natural stone. Very easy to use and apply and the results speak for themselves. I used the patio cleaner, then a jet washer and a brush to apply the sealer. This sealer brings put the natural colour of the stone really well.

Tried a sample pot on one Indian Sandstone slab, looked good, so bit the bullet and ordered 2 x 5 litre containers. Sprayed on with pump sprayer 2 coats. Came up looking real good. Noticed that the resin sand grout joints seemed very absorbent, so gave them a 3rd coat (should have treated joints 1st then given the 2 full coats of sealer as it I think it would have prevented edges of stones looking slightly darker, but I don't think anyone else will notice!)

Pleased with the results Just need to go over the flags again its a pity that once opened the sealer you can only store for 3 months Just got to decide what size I will require.

Good price for a sample product of sealer,gave good result so bought 5 litres.

The product was ok & brought out the colours better than before applied but unfortunately it wasnt the wet look that I was hoping for.Had to buy another 5 litres on top of the 5 litres already bought as I didnt have enough to do the whole patio so was quite expensive for me to not really get the finish I originally wanted.I was informed after sending photos that this would be the best sealer to get for a wet look but now a bit disappointed.

Great finish, sealer easy to apply with the sprayer. Worth paying that bit more for. I have used rollers in the past but much more efficient using the sprayer. I laid new India stone flags next to old ones , cleaned the old ones then sealed them all. You cant tell the difference. Great job.

Brilliant sealer does what it says , water now puddles on top of the sandstone instead of soaking in . Colour more intense and easy to apply with a roller . Quite pricy but if it does what it says for 5 yrs then money well spent wouldnt hesitate to buy again . Time will only tell if the quality and performance remains . 5*

Certainly looked great when I had completed two coats of sealer ,but I found it very tiring to apply. I see you sell a broom to apply the product but as you had sold out I had to apply with roller and then a 4 inch brush.This took an eternity and was very uncomfortable. When I next perform this task I will be better prepared,and a lot less tired on completion. Anyway,my wife said the result was worth the effort.

Excellent product. We could not believe the end result; it exceeded our expectations. The sealer was very easy to apply; we used a 12" roller with extension pole which took circa 4-5 hours to cover 120m2 with 2 coats.

Seal is absolutely fantastic, i can't believe how well it turned out, it is brilliant. However, I thought it was a bit pricey, that is the only reason I give it 4. Would I buy it again yes. But, now it is sealed to an extremely great good standard, I will probably look for something cheaper next time maintenance is due. Don't think I can afford to pay smart seal prices every year.

My sandstone looked pale, so had to do something to make it glow . The sealer and colour enhancing worked fantastically well. Brilliant product, Easy to use and the patio came alive , thank you For all your help

Excellent product. Delivery was extremely fast, given the circumstances. Only negative is the price for coverage. I have a sandstone patio 30m2 and a 5l tub did not allow enough for 2 coats like recommended. That being said the finish is amazing and allowed all the little fossils in my patio to pop out!

Loved how the colour was brought back with the colour enhancer ( black granite patio) . Water now pools on the surface just like a freshly polished car. I used a sprayer to apply first coat of sealer but suspect I may have been a little heavy on the application and in hindsight a roller may have been better. I would not hesitate to recommend this product and will be using it again when my drive needs recoating.

Fantastic product. After following the instructions on the bottle my newly laid patio has the wet look all day long and dirt and possible stains come straight off using the hosepipe. I would certainly recommend this product to anyone looking to protect their natural stone patio.

Absolutely amazing. Really pleased with this sealer.

Now that we have had some rain I can see just how effective this sealer is. It is expensive but it really works well. The colour enhancing properties brings out the colour of Indian sandstone without making the stones gaudy or too bright. Definitely use the Xtreme patio cleaner first.

Have tried a sample bottle of sealer and it seems, up to now good. I am pleased with the product and will order more to complete the whole of my patio.

I used blackspot remover on my natural stone patio and then sealed it with the enhanced sealer.Both products were terrific and easy to use as per instructions.I will have to wait to see how sealer performs only just done it but it looks great.

Excellent product, I have used a few cheaper sealers in the past but this product is by far the best, good coverage as I have enough for a second coat in the spring.

Flimsy cardboard box just about in one piece on delivery of 2 -5litre containers.Sealed 60 metre square patio -2 coats on ivory sandstone flags- coverage very good using a roller. Colour enhancer has worked perhaps bringing browns out more than blues etc. Proof of the pudding will be it�s longevity-we will see-I have plenty left for another coat at some time!

laid a indian natural stone about a year ago, and already looking tired and dirty and green algae...jet washed it, waited a week then applied the sealer...it was easy to apply, and it has transformed the look to better than new, time will tale how long it will last, but at the moment really impressed.

This product worked as advised in both the YouTube demo video and after having an online chat with one of your agents. It gives a 'wet' appearance and, in our case, really brought back the colour of the limestone which had faded to almost grey. We used the Patio Xtreme cleaner before hand to really get the area clean and that stuff is brilliant, you can see it working as soon as you apply it... it does smell like chlorine though, so take the advice they give and wear a mask. All in all, great service and product!

Bought three samples of Natural Stone Sealers for my new Indian Sandstone patio area. Wet Look, Colour Enhancer and Ultimate Enhancer. I found the Colour Enhancer did not bring out the colours to a level I required and for the few pennies extra the Ultimate Enhancer looks far superior.

Only just applied us as I had to wait for the temp to get above 15 degrees, but it looks great. Delivery was prompt. Very happy with the product.

Applied the sealer enhancer this morning. Decided to use a roller instead of sprayer as my patio area not that large. Very pleased with initial results and has brought my Indian Sandstone colours back to life. Woks great.

Very pleased with the result. We thought our patio looked far nicer when it was wet. Using the colour enhancer made it look almost the same as being wet, the colours are darker and more striking. Hopefully over the years it will maintain it's looks, and those black spots won't appear if I carry out the recommended maintenance.

BRILLIANT, product, has revived an old stone patio and pathway areas, the initial enhancement looks superb. worth mentioning you need to have prepared the project area properly first, and then the product can do its work. [ i actually sprayed mine on] which is a good way of doing it

I have used your Xtreme cleaner and your colour enhance sealer on my Indian stone patio and am delighted with the results. My patio which was covered in black spots which I could not remove using other products is now clear of any black spots and I have used the colour enhance sealer which has brought the colour back and it looks truly amazing and as good as new. Your products are easy to use and the result is fantastic.

Used this product on Indian sandstone after first cleaning them with the extreme cleaner. Does enhance the colour of the flagstones, but take care to remove the excess otherwise it leaves a milky finish. Going back after application with a sponge to do this works O.K. A few months on from application and the flagstones still look like new.

Ordered this product on a Friday and paid additional cost to receive with a priority delivery. It should have been next 'working day' delivery ie Monday but did not arrive until Tuesday. Disappointing service. That said, the product is great and achived the visual, and I hope future ease of maintenance, effect.

I have just had a new natural Indian sandstone patio installed.I needed to find a product that would not only seal the stone against spills and grass stains etc but also enhance the look of the stone.After viewing the Smart-seal videos online i knew I'd found the perfect product.Fast delivery and easy to apply and makes the patio look great. The service I received was excellent, When ordering I was given advice on how much I would need, how to apply and the use of a residue remover because of the pointing compound I used. Ordered a sample before buying, was able to check the difference between this and the invisible dry option. This brought out the colour of the sandstone but without making it too "blingy". Easy order process and very prompt delivery, easily accessible telephone advice also helps.

After reading reviews bought colour enhanced sealer. Followed the instructions Power cleaned patio, waited for it to dry, applied enhance sealer using a garden sprayer and within an hour my Indian Stone patio looked like a newly laid one.

This is just perfect for our patio. It makes it look like new. Also delivery time was excellent.

Bought a sample of this first before purchasing the full amount required, along with a sample of the standard Ultimate Enhancer as I wanted to see the difference in the "flesh" so to speak. I found that the standard one was not dark enough on the lighter coloured sandstone such as light greys so opted for the Ultimate Enhancer. I used a small mini roller to apply it, waiting about 20-30 mins before topping up with the 2nd coat. Personally I think the standard enhancer is ok colour wise on darker colours but when you have a mixture of colours such as Indian Sandstone then the Ultimate Enhancer pulls the colours out better. The overall finish is a mild sheen, not a completely dry look but also not too shiny. I did find though that with some colours on Indian Sandstone the final finish can vary slightly, some dryer looking than others. I guess this is all down to how porus each stone is and how the product either soaks straight in or slightly sits on top. Only 3 stars as I found the colour a bit weak and also the price a little high compared to it's competition.

I've yet to see how effective it is but it is very easy to apply and subtlety enhances the colour.

A great product and very effective in enhancing my Indian Sandstone patio. 2 coats easily applied by roller. Colours much improved and water repellent characteristics are working well so all in all "it did what it said on the tin!" looking in to the next step now to see if it is possible to achieve a gloss finish.

This is a very good product , after jet washing Indian Sandstone patio applied colour enhancing sealer with a roller. Next winter will be the test to see if it slows or stops growth of moss and Algae. I am sure it will be easier to clean in the future. Smartseal is not a cheap product but I think will be worth it.

Excellent product

I jet washed & used bleach to clean my Indian sandstone patio which was laid over 5 years ago and had turned grey with lichen in places. Once it dried out in the sunshine for 3 days I applied the colour enhancing sealer which was very easy to apply & dried quickly. The effect was excellent and we now have the original stone colour back with water staying on the surface and not soaking in as previously. It takes longer to dry off but it's worth it. Good value with high coverage an I'll be using the remaining sealant from the 5 litres purchased on the pathway around my house. Interested in how it will weather and when/ if it will need renewing after a couple of winters.

Very pleased with this product.i have approx 10sq Metres of pink indian sandstone which I recently pressure washed (1st time since it was put down several yrs ago)wanting to keep the lovely colour and hopefully protecting it from future algae,lichen etc purchased 2 litres of stone sealer,which I applied with a sprayer,although at time thought I had sprayed on too finely(used all 2 litres)on a warm dry day,when it rained it was great to see droplets all over patio without any water seeping into stone also looks very natural still without no shiny wet look finish when dry.

Bought sandstone colour enhancer for our new patio....amazing results. Beyond happy. Then weeks later we had builders in who somehow got render powder all over it, thought it would just wash off but didn't, left it chalky again. I emailed smart seal who personally phoned me at home to try and help. I was gobsmacked, just expected an email at best. This is an amazing company with great customer service. My patio is now back to amazing again. Just about to put an order in for some more, need one more litre!! THANKYOU!!

Really impressed left review a month or so to see how well it worked but this has proved excellent. Patio had been down about 4 months and colours appeared to dissapear this has restored it to the wet look for dry days and great water seal to protect it. Also excellent coverage on fossil sandstone.

Applied this product to our natural slate patio slabs and we are very pleased with the appearance. We have some roller marks, probably due to the method of application, so will need to go over two or three slabs again when the weather improves. Have used just over half of the container on an area of 7.2 x 6.6 metres. Easy to apply (used a 100mm roller). The liquid is thinner than anticipated, so it's well worth decanting this somewhere where any spillage won't matter. Our garden is quite exposed to heavy rain, high winds and salt storms in the winter, so we are looking forward to see how this performs over the next year or so. Will be buying more to do the drive and house surround shortly.

At Ultimate Cleaning we always use Smart Seal's "Sandstone/Natural Stone ULTRA Sealer 'COLOUR-ENHANCED' Finish". It is easy for us to use but above all - all the customers that we have applied this product too - their patio's, the results have been AMAZING

Very pleased with this product so far. Has really brought out the colours in our sandstone patio. Very easy to apply and to clean tools. I brushed the sealant over the joints then rollered the surface. It seemed to work well. The key test now is "how many years until refresh needed?"

I have a natural sandstone patio that I used to have to pressure wash and clean 2-3 times a year to rid it of dirt / grime / algae / lichen. Used the colour-enhanced natural stone sealer. It was easy to apply by pressure sprayer - the most difficult bit by far was getting the patio perfectly clean before application. The colours are more vivid and overall the patio is slightly darker than it was before- a matter of opinion but I think the sealer has improved the patio's appearance. Product isn't cheap so would recommend trying a sample pot on an inconspicuous area first. The sealer has been down a couple of months now which would have been enough for the algae to start to return, but it's still perfectly clean. The best thing is that it's going to save me a lot of work longer term keeping the patio clean.

Does what it says on the tin, well worth the price

As other people have said, its not a cheap product , but I can assure you its the best the that I have used on Indian Sandstone. Do not be alarmed if it rains and the water sits in drops like on a polished car! , this effect soon passes and the wet look appears within a few days Good luck.

Let me first compliment the company - my original order turned out not to make complete sense (unnecessary cleaner ordered), so they rang me up and we sorted it out over the phone, resulting in a cost saving. Regarding the sealer, it seems to work well, certainly enhancing the colour in a natural way (and thankfully not enhancing the residual bits of black spot that I've been unable to get rid of). Don't yet know if it lasts as long as advertised, but actually would not be hard (or particularly expensive) to recoat every 2 or 3 years.

Having spoken with the guys at Smartseal to ensure i ordered the right product i could not be happier with the result. Indian natural stone took 2 coats and colours look great, easy to apply and coverage better than expected. Also did a quarry tile path where it worked just as well. Worth the money.

Excellent product subtly enhances surface and provides good stain resistance. Service and advice excellent would defiantly use Smartseal again.

Used it on the Indian Sandstone in the lantern room. Absolutely fantastic results, colours have been enhanced and the subtle finish is superb.

I used the colour enhancing product on a new patio of Indian sandstone. Applied with a large hand brush and the results looks great. Be aware though that when it rains the water sits on top of the stone and takes a long time to dry. I would recommend the product.

Just finished spraying limestone patio slabs with sealant / colour enhancer to-day 8/6/13 and so far it looks great,really enhanced colours of slabs, but only time will tell how good the sealant is??

I ordered Smartseal colour enhancer for my patio of indian sandstone that I had just had re-pointed. I was given some excellent advice by the salesman, who told me to apply the sealer to an area of the patio that I could return to after 30mins and brush in any excess liquid, before going on to the next section. I used a garden sprayer first and then a clean, soft broom to finish, repeating this procedure until completed. The end result was amazing - the colours in the sandstone were brilliant, as if it had been freshly hosed down, only now it is permanent! The cost of the sealer is certainly worth it and I can highly recommend this product.

First time of using this product I sealed limestone patio with the seal and colour enhance all in one what a first class product . easy to apply coverage was miles better than stated on the tin , totally odourless, quick drying and brings colour up lovely . will be using this product again most definately

Like one of your other reviewers, I thought initially that the the product seemed expensive, but it really is very good. It is very easy to apply and it really does bring out the colours of the sandstone as well as protecting it from stains. Before applying the stone soaked up the rain, but now it stands on the surface and I am confident that it will not stain. Highly recommended. Also, the service from Smartseal was excellent with prompt delivery and very easy online ordering.

I'm pleased with the effect and waterproofing of the product. Brings out the deep colour and water just lies on top of the sandstone. The contact gave me good info and instructions on how to apply the product. Bit expensive but you get what you pay for.

Very pleased with the sealant and the service. My original thinking was the stuff was very expensive but after talking to the sales guy I went for the wet look sealant for my sandstone patio. I was very nervous as he has advised the "wet look" was not shiny but more colour enhancing. It turned up on time and I applied it as instructed and I think it looks great. The colour is deeper and looks fantastic..
