By Pascal GaucherFROM Southampton

Amazing cool enhancer for slate. I followed the recommendation and stunned by the results. It has now been a few weeks and the colour is still the same. Brilliant sealer! I wish I could add photos.

Technical

PREPARATION: Prior to application of Slate sealer or natural stone sealer ensure surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry and free from contamination. If algae or stains are present pre treat prior to cleaning with a appropriate cleaning product.

**If applied to a surface where a "sweep-in" pointing compound has been used, the natural stone must be fully cleaned with Smartseal Residue Remover prior to sealant application.**

APPLICATION: A suitable  pressure sprayer or roller is recommended taking care to avoid any pooling. Application on all substrates should be to full saturation and on vertical surfaces commence at the bottom and work upwards. For internal surfaces application by a suitable cloth is appropriate.

Remove any excess after a maximum of 45 minutes via a dry roller or cloth.

Do not apply in damp conditions nor temperatures below 15°C. Shake container well before use.

All equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after use.

Finish may vary in accordance to type of stone applied to.

Always apply to a test area first.

SHELF LIFE: Store away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Protect from frost.
12 months (in original sealed container).

Product FAQs

Q: Will this sealer prevent white scuff marks on black slate

Mat Baines

A: If the 'white stuff' you refer to is white lichen, it will certainly help prevent this and if it did manage over time to establish itself, would facilitate easir cleaning. Hope that helps

Response from Jacob

Q: I have used the slate colour sealer today. It has now been 3hrs and if i touch it it shows a finger print. How long before I can walk on it

Trevor Burton

A: If the sealer has not been over applied, you can generally 'tip toe' across it after about 4 hours. The paving would be fully dry after 24 hours. The polymers in the sealer will continue to harden for 7 days. Hope that helps.

Response from Rick

Q: Can this sealer be used on a honed granite hearth where a log burner is going to be installed

Rob Walker

A: If it is on parts of the hearth not exposed to extreme heat, it would be fine. Samples are available through our website for testing.
